Purpose of Role: The CNC Programmer / Robot Technician is responsible for programming and maintaining, along with providing process optimization support for automated manufacturing systems performing tasks such as welding, cutting, forming, and joining metals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create & Modify Robot Welding Programs: Use specialized software to define welding paths and perimeters on robotic welding machines.

    Develop, test, and implement programs for robots to work safely alongside human operators
  • Write & Test CNC Programs: Create, validate, and optimize programs for CNC machines, including setting parameters and editing programs.

    Test programs to ensure machines operate correctly, making adjustments as needed to address errors or inefficiencies.
  • Maintain Documentation: Document procedure, work instructions, and programs to maintain control of automated processes.

    Create set up documentation for operator for use on the shop floor.
  • Process Validation and Improvements: Verify that produced parts meet design specifications and tolerance for weld quality, machining, or forming.

    Identify and implement solutions for increased productivity, quality, or capability.
  • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.
  • Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with robotic welding
  • Experience working with/around CNC machines
  • Ability to troubleshoot industrial controls
  • Crane and rigging experience
  • Experience with Lock Out/Tag Out
